Adult Foster Care (AFC) is an option of care whose hallmark is that of a small "family" setting for up to a limited number of individuals. State regulations govern the maximum number of individuals who may reside within an Adult Foster Care setting. In Michigan, an Adult Foster Care Home is restricted to serving no more than 20 adults at any one time. Adult Foster Care facilities offer personal care assistance with eating, bathing, dressing and grooming. The facilities also provide medication management as well as general supervision on a 24-hour basis. In Michigan, Adult Foster Care homes serve individuals who have developmental disabilities, mental illness, physical handicaps and/or who are simply aged and cannot live alone, yet do not need continuous nursing care Adult Foster Care - Adult Foster Care Home - AFC in Michigan |
